OFAC compliance for Oracle EBS and Fusion

OFAC Sanctions Screening for Oracle EBS and Fusion: Check Suppliers, Customers and Employees Automatically

Know before you pay, ship or hire. OneGlobe OFAC Compliance checks every supplier, customer and employee record in Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud against the OFAC sanctions list, sends the uncertain ones to a person, and keeps the evidence.

One application for all three groups. Scheduled and continuous screening, a single review queue, a shared dashboard, and an optional assistant for plain-language questions. Matching runs without AI, so results are consistent and explainable.

Sanctions screening is only as good as how often, and how completely, you do it

US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with parties on the OFAC sanctions list. Many companies check suppliers when they are set up and never again, and rarely screen customers or employees. The list changes, and so do your records.

One solution for suppliers, customers and employees

Each group is screened from its own Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion records, on its own schedule, with the same matching rules, one review queue and one dashboard.

Suppliers

Before you pay them

Supplier names and site addresses are checked in batches and as new or changed suppliers appear. Outcomes can be written back to your Oracle system after approval.

Customers

Before you sell to them

Customer account names and active site addresses are checked. Inactive or ineligible sites are skipped, so reviewers see what matters.

Employees

Across your workforce

Employee names are screened, and changes to assignments or addresses trigger a fresh check. Results stay inside the compliance application.

From Oracle record to documented decision

1

Read

Records are pulled from Oracle EBS or Fusion, in full batches and as they change.

2

Compare

Each name and address is compared with the OFAC sanctions list, kept current from the published list.

3

Score

Similarity scoring handles spelling variations, aliases and address differences.

4

Decide

Clear results pass, strong matches are flagged, and the uncertain middle goes to a person.

5

Record

Scores, the matched entry and the reviewer’s reason are saved for audit.

Machines find the candidates. People make the decision.

A similar name is not proof of identity. Common names can score high by chance, so uncertain matches are held for a person instead of being cleared or blocked automatically.

  • One review queue. Suppliers, customers and employees are reviewed in the same place.
  • Evidence side by side. The record on file and the matched list entry are shown together, with name and address scores.
  • A reason every time. Reviewers must explain their decision before they can clear or confirm.
  • Controlled updates. Supplier updates to your Oracle system still need approval.
  • You set the bar. Administrators set the match threshold and the review band.

Example: a review case

Record on file
Sample customer “Sample Customer 2”, Account 2763, with an address in the USA.
What was found
Name score 86 against a list entry, address score 55. The name is in the review band, the address is clear.
The decision
Held for review. The reviewer compares the details, writes the reason and clears or confirms. The decision is recorded.

Illustrative example with fictional data.

What you get

Scheduled and continuous screening

Run full batches on a schedule or on demand. New and changed records are also picked up on a staggered cycle for each record type, so your Oracle system is not overloaded.

Always the current list

The local copy of the OFAC list is refreshed when a new list is published, and you can browse it by name, alias, type, programme and country.

Names and addresses

Both are scored, and the matched list name is shown next to the matched address, so reviewers do not have to piece it together.

One dashboard

Total records, compliant, non-compliant and pending review, with the latest screening result and a breakdown by supplier, customer and employee.

Quick check

Check any name or address on the spot, such as a prospect or a new hire, without touching saved results or your Oracle system.

Ask in plain words

An optional assistant answers questions such as “how many suppliers are non-compliant, and when was the last run?” It is read-only for customers and employees, and changes to suppliers need approval.

Alerts that find you

Email alerts for completed batches, real-time activity and sync problems, so nobody has to keep checking the dashboard.

Resilient by design

Interrupted runs recover automatically after a restart, and every run is logged in a batch history.

What changes for your business

Lower risk, less manual checking and a record you can show an auditor.

Frequently asked questions

What is OFAC sanctions screening?
OFAC is the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control. It publishes sanctions lists, including the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with listed parties, so companies screen the people and organisations they do business with. Please confirm your obligations with your own compliance advisers.
What is OneGlobe OFAC Compliance for Oracle EBS and Fusion?
It is an application that screens your Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion suppliers, customers and employees against the OFAC sanctions list, scores name and address similarity, sends uncertain matches to a person, and keeps the evidence for audit.
Is it only for suppliers?
No. It screens suppliers, customers and employees from their Oracle EBS or Fusion records. All three share the same matching rules, review queue and dashboard.
How does it decide if a record is a match?
Names and addresses are scored for similarity against the OFAC list, including aliases. Scores at or above your match threshold are flagged, scores in your review band go to a person, and lower scores are cleared. Administrators set the thresholds.
Does it use AI to match?
No. Matching runs on defined similarity rules, so results are consistent and can be explained. An optional assistant uses AI only to answer your questions about saved results.
Can a person override the result?
Yes. Reviewers clear or confirm a match in one review queue and must write a reason each time. Supplier updates to your Oracle system still need approval.
What happens to the results in my Oracle system?
Supplier outcomes can be written back to your Oracle system after approval. Customer and employee outcomes stay in the compliance application, so you decide how they are used.
How often is screening done?
You can run full batches on a schedule or on demand. New and changed records are also checked continuously, on a separate cycle for each record type. The OFAC list copy is refreshed when a new list is published.
What is the quick check?
It lets you check any name or address immediately, for example a prospect or a new hire, without changing saved results or your Oracle system. It uses its own rules, and a similarity result alone does not establish identity.
Does it guarantee we are compliant?
No tool can. It is a screening aid that helps you find candidates and document decisions. Your compliance team makes the final decision, and a similar name is not proof of identity.
Which sanctions lists does it check?
The OFAC SDN list published by the US Treasury. Contact us if you need other lists considered.
Which Oracle systems does it support?
Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud, on their own or together. Contact us to discuss your setup or other systems.
Will it overload our Oracle system?
Real-time checks run on a staggered schedule for each record type, which keeps the load on your Oracle system low. Large batches can be scheduled for quiet hours.
How are we notified of problems?
Email alerts go out for completed batches, real-time activity and sync-health issues, and every run is recorded in a batch history.
