Oracle APEX

AI-Enabled Application Development with Oracle APEX

Describe the application you need, and have working Oracle apps in weeks instead of months. OneGlobe builds with the latest Oracle APEX, including its new AI Application Generator, so your team gets the right app without a long custom project.

APEX is included with supported Oracle Database editions, with no extra licence fee and no limit on apps or users. Use it to build new business apps, integrate your systems, modernise legacy screens, or extend Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

Most Oracle teams have a backlog of small apps nobody has time to build

Approval trackers, customer and supplier portals, exception screens, dashboards on your business data. They are too small for a big project and too important for a spreadsheet. Oracle APEX, with AI, changes the maths.

What is new in Oracle APEX in 2026

Oracle has moved APEX from low-code to AI-assisted development. These are the headline changes in the 26.1 and 26.2 releases. We keep our team and our delivery approach current with each one.

APEX 26.1 (May 2026)

AI-assisted building arrives

The Oracle APEX AI Application Generator, AI Agents that act through approved tools, and natural-language reports. Connect to leading AI providers, including OpenAI-compatible models, Google Gemini and OCI Generative AI.

APEX 26.2 (October 2026)

Easier to govern and reuse

Improvements to APEXlang, the readable file format behind every app, so changes can be compared, tracked and reviewed. Richer AI reports and workflow improvements.

Your environment

We plan the upgrade with you

26.2 is released for on-premises databases first, with Oracle cloud services following. We check what applies to your Oracle Database and plan the move at the right time.

AI features that change how apps get built and used

The AI in Oracle APEX helps in two places: when the app is being built, and when people use it every day.

AI Application Generator

Describe the app in plain language. AI drafts the pages, reports and forms on your Oracle data. Your team reviews and refines it instead of starting from a blank screen.

APEXlang: apps you can read and review

Every app is stored as clear, human-readable files. Changes can be compared, validated and managed like any other source, which means better control and fewer surprises at release time.

AI Agents with guardrails

Agents can take actions inside your app, but only through tools you approve. They work within the app, so what they can do stays defined and visible.

Ask your reports in plain words

Users type what they want to see, such as “overdue items over 10,000”, and the report adjusts. They can still edit and save the result, so the answer is never a black box.

Your choice of AI provider

Use the AI service your organisation already approves, including OpenAI-compatible models, Google Gemini or OCI Generative AI, with controls over how much reasoning the AI applies.

Data access rules that follow the user

Oracle Deep Data Security applies row, column and value-level rules across your apps and AI agents, so AI works only with data the signed-in person may see.

AI drafts. People decide. Every generated app is reviewed, tested and approved by your team and OneGlobe before it reaches users.

Build new, or extend Oracle EBS and Fusion without touching the core

Oracle recommends extending its applications on the side rather than customising them. APEX is built for exactly that, which keeps upgrades simpler and your core system clean.

  • Oracle E-Business Suite. Build apps that read EBS data and write back only through Oracle-supported interfaces, with the same EBS sign-in and responsibilities.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud. Build apps that connect through Fusion’s REST services and single sign-on. Fusion stays your system of record.
  • Other systems. Bring third-party and legacy data into the same screen, with REST, database and file integrations.
  • One skill set. The same APEX team supports your EBS and your cloud move, which helps if you run both during a transition.

Example: a supplier onboarding app

The need
Track new suppliers through tax, bank and compliance checks before they are created in Oracle.
The APEX app
One screen for requests, approvals and reminders, with AI search for “waiting more than five days”.
The result
Only approved suppliers reach EBS or Fusion, through supported interfaces. Core Oracle stays unchanged.

Illustrative example.

Frequently asked questions

What is Oracle APEX?
Oracle APEX is Oracle's low-code platform for building web and mobile-ready business applications on top of Oracle Database. It is included with supported Oracle Database editions, with no limit on the number of apps, developers or users.
What is new in Oracle APEX in 2026?
Oracle APEX 26.1 (May 2026) introduced the Oracle APEX AI Application Generator, AI Agents and AI Tools, natural-language AI reports and support for leading AI providers. APEX 26.2 (October 2026) improves APEXlang for comparing and managing apps, adds richer AI reports and workflow improvements. Availability of 26.2 differs by environment, so we check what applies to yours.
What is the Oracle APEX AI Application Generator?
It lets you describe an application in plain language, and AI drafts the pages, reports and forms on your Oracle data. Your team and OneGlobe then review and refine it before it is released.
What is APEXlang?
APEXlang is the readable file format that APEX now uses to describe an application. Because apps are stored as clear text files, changes can be compared, validated and managed with your normal source control and release process.
Can Oracle APEX extend Oracle E-Business Suite?
Yes. APEX apps can read EBS data and write back through Oracle-supported interfaces, using the same EBS sign-in and responsibilities. This keeps customisation out of the core and helps upgrades. Typical prerequisites include a supported EBS 12.2 release and a supported Oracle Database version, which we confirm with you.
Can Oracle APEX extend Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications?
Yes. APEX apps connect to Fusion through its REST services and single sign-on, so Fusion stays your system of record while the app adds the screens and workflows you need.
Is Oracle APEX really free?
APEX is included with supported Oracle Database editions at no extra licence cost, with no limits on apps, developers or users. You still need a supported Oracle Database and the right environment. We help you confirm what you already own.
How does AI work inside APEX apps?
AI helps in two ways. During the build, it drafts the first version of an app. During use, it lets people ask for reports in plain words and lets AI Agents act through tools you approve. People remain in control, and data access rules still apply.
Is our data safe with AI in APEX?
Apps run in your Oracle Database and use your existing sign-in and data access rules. You choose the AI provider your organisation approves. We design each app so AI works only with data the signed-in person is allowed to see, and we review this with you before release.
How long does it take to build an APEX application?
Many apps can be prototyped in days and released in weeks, depending on size and integrations. AI drafting speeds up the first version, and short build cycles let you shape the result.
Can OneGlobe upgrade or modernise our existing APEX apps?
Yes. We review your current APEX version, plan the move to the latest release and update apps to use new features such as AI search and improved themes, with testing at each step.
Which Oracle APEX services does OneGlobe offer?
Requirements gathering, design and development, rapid prototyping, integration with Oracle EBS, Fusion and other systems, deployment, training and ongoing support.
